What .22 bolt action rifle?

Ok, seems like the CZ and the Savage are highly reccomended, my only issue with Savage is the bolt isn't exactly as smooth as I like but not bad.
Where is the best place (price) to find a CZ? Also are there any used ones out there?

Illingworth Imports probably.

The CZ's do have very smooth bolt's. But you should see the older Brno's! The #1's I have are amazingly smooth and slick!!! If you can, find a used Brno, they're truly amazing guns. So much so I bought 9 of them!

If you are in fact serious about the above claim I'd at least like to know what ammo you use and how consistently you can do this? You are talking about the .68 caliber paintballs, right? Are you shooting in a warehouse?

Dead serious. It was outdoors but with no wind. As far a consistency, I'd put it at about 80%. I was using Dynapoints as my selection is pretty limited down here. I recently got my hands on some Eley Club Xtra, and CCI Green Tag on my trip to Ontario. I'm hoping to try those out tomorrow. I'm really impressed with the accuracy of this rifle.

However, I measured the range the other day just out of curiosity. For some reason the range is only 88 yards instead of 100. Why, I have no idea.

Think Used Brno

I agree 100%

I bought a used Brno #4 off the EE for less than a new Savage... The quality is second to none... deadly accurate... awesome rifle... great feel... the new CZ magazines fit them too so you can get several magazines...

I'd look at one of them for sure.

Having owned Marlin, Savage, CZ and brno (as well as winchester's, valmets', anschutz/CIL's, etc) I would say the best bet for you would be a CZ 452 sytle. Unless you are going to be doing some serious benchrest the CZ 452 is more enough for a hunting rifle or even for some target work it will work. Both the brno #4 I have and my CZ are smooth (not quite as smooth as my anschutz 54MS) and they would probably be your best bet.

Both savage and marlin make good little guns but for $100 or $150 or whatever it costs upgrading to a CZ is a good choice in my opinion

Good luck!

My first 22 was a bruno and l loved it but sold it (BIG MISTAKE)then I bought a ruger sold it because no where near accuacy of what the Bruno was now I just bought a CZ 452 and I gotta tell ya I LOVE IT most accurate rifle I've ever owed
Got a great price from Ellwood Epps which included shipping to BC,
Brand New for less then some guys here sell there banged up Cz's/Bruno's for on the form
Had it in 5 days. YE HA Now I can BANG BANG BANG all day long!

I did a "coin-flip" last winter ... between the CZ452 and Browning T-Bolt.
Chose the T-Bolt ... didn't like the CZ's grooved-receiver mount system,
trigger guard/floor plate/magazine set-up ...and had heard magazines were hard to come-by.

Went with the T-bolt, mounted a Leupold VXII 2-7 LR in QR mounts on it, got 2 extra mags from Browning ... and no regrets. For more-or-less standard ammo, it likes CCI Green Tag and Lapua Super Club. For the more premium stuff, Lapua Midas M and Eley Tenex Ultimate EPS. No problem shooting half-inch and, more-often smaller groups at 50 yards ... with the "high-test" ammo, most groups are just one ragged hole. My around the house pest control load sighted for 10 yards is CCI CB Longs. One hole all day long.
Haven't played at 100 yards yet ... but will.

.22 rifle

one of the best ways I've found alot of good , accurate , well priced .22's is at gun shows .some of the older mossberg's, remington , winchester's, even the Cooey's were accurate , I've picked them up for as little as $50, and they were great .LOL Joe

K98, ebruder,

X3 on the Brno's :) If you find any well kept Brno's BUY em. After I had pick naturally :)

But, really most .22 will give you adequate accuracy and are much fun to shoot.. Just get one that fits your wallet, get a decent scope, and tons of ammo. If you do not like it sell it and get another.. Repeat process until you stay erect.
