I did a search but couldn't find an answer.

What budget ammunition is decent to fire in my rifle? I'm not looking for match accuracy and I don't reload.

Is MFS a decent brand? Non-Corrosive, steel cased. Any issues with it?

I also see Sellier and Bellot and PRVI around, opinions?

Thanks!

Has anyone used S&B brass for reloading? I'm just curious if anyone has mic'd the thickness or put it through a stress test (4+ loads)

Brass life is supposed to be short on M14's. I'm not sure I'd put the blame on the brass. Unless of course you are finding another brand of brass is holding up better. I'm drawing the limit at 2 reloads.

My M14 short rifle, likes DA 7.62 and federal blue box
150grn.SP the best, but shoots most any 150 grn
loads fine.Accuracy is best with the federal.

I shoot the Norinco stuff for fun. If Im serious about what I'm shooting at I use Hornady match ammo. With that I can stack bullets at 100yards.

wrong- it's 170 and over- lots of match people shoot 165-168 grain( do some more READING) ESP ZEDIKER; 165 for hunting, 168 for match, 173 if you're going for 600 + and don't give a d*mn about the oprod etc or have a SADLAK piston
the m14 actually shoots BETTER in most cases with 165-168 grain bullets

You know it may just be the Speer bullets they use in the Federal blue box. It's making me want to buy some of those 150g bullets to try in Winchester brass but they want like $32.00 per 100 wtf Hornady interlock is a fine bullet and costs only $27.00

Speer is such a diva company, their actual speer products are expensive while their CCI stuff kicks ass. It's kind of like ninja meet colonel sanders, one is expensive and shifty while the other is CHEAP AND YUMMY MMM MM

I went ahead and took advantage of the ammo sources deal on PRVI fmj. Thanks for all the advice, I'll definitely be keeping these other options in mind.
