I somehow managed to get a left hand full stock steyr, the rings that came with it are a spin off from the front quick disconnect in 1" and the rear mount seems to have just a little bit of play to it, so I'd like to get something else.

Long term plan is to get it drilled to 9.3x62 and run a minox 2-10x50, with 30mm tube on this beauty.

What rings would you go with or have on yours? I like the look of the leupold quick disconnect bases with rings that drop in, versus a weaver or picatinny style rail or mounts, I'm not interested in spending over $150 for rings and mounts unless they are something that looks so good and function so good that I just need to have, but what would any of you with this or similar rifle recommend?

Appreciate your feedback, as there is much different and seemingly less options for this rifle.

Regards!

Warne mfr's steel 'weaver' style bases to fit the 'M'. I would buy those and a set of Burris Signature 'Zee' rings and keep an Allen key handy. You just might manage this for under $150 tax in. I have EAW on my 'M' but they won't come in at your target price unless you find them used. Do you have a pic of your current rings/bases...maybe there is some adjustment. BTW..you may wish to ask around about reboring that barrel. Steyr hammer forges their barrels and the barrels are considered hard. Some guys that rebore and rerifle barrels will not do some barrels because of this. Unlike SSG barrels, M barrels are threaded but not sure if other factory measures make removal problematic. Ps.... I just put a set of Warne bases on a Steyr 'L' a they look pretty darn good!
