What 6.5X55 ammo would work best in my Swedish mauser m38? I'd like to buy bullets that have quality brass suitable for reloading. I'll be completely honest I'm totally in the dark I know nothing about the difference between the $25 box and the $35 box. Any help from you guys will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Winchester brass is decent for reloading. If you can find PRVI or Norma ammo it is loaded much hotter than north american commercial ammo and the brass is excellent.
At the local prices for ammo, I just bought new brass and started reloading right off the start. Buying ammo just for the brass is a very expensive way to get brass.

I think the main difference is the projectiles. FMJ ammo is useless for hunting, but cheap. As far as reloadable brass goes, I've never had a problem with any brass except federal. 2 mild reloads i'm getting with FC .308 brass before the primer pockets are too loose to hold a primer. I can seat them with my finger

For the price of about 6 boxes of loaded ammo, or about $150, you should be able to buy one of the Lee starter loading kits with press, scale, manual, dies, and other accessories, and a couple of boxes of loaded ammo.. With the addition of 200 bullets, powder and primers, it should pay for itself within the first 200 rounds you fire.

From what i've heard the lapua brass is the best. Are you going to hunt with the rifle or just target? 140/139grain, hunting. You might want to try the 120gr for target, though i've never shot it myself. So far i,ve used my fusion brass and seirra 140gr spbt.although it's actually .263 and not .264. I think i'm going to have to buy a shooting stand for my rifle to see just how good it is. I can shoot 1" sub moa but it's rare with my shooting skill. Be very carefull working up your loads and your rounds oal.
