What 7mm should i get?

I would go with the 7mm08, I hunt with 7mm08, and 7X57.
I have a Remington 700 BDL in 7mm08, a Ruger No1 AB model in 7X57, Brno 21H 7X57, and a Custom 7X57. I just like these because they aren't heavy, comfortable to shoot, and are accurate. I also have the option of using my Steyr SSG 69 P, or a Remington 700 SS 5-R in 308. I am not a fan of magnums as they kick me around and becasue of a back injury I can hardly walk for days.

7mm musings....

I have a couple rifles in 7mm-08's and one in 7x57mm. Both ctgs are great. That said of all the WSM's the only one that I'd consider would be a 7mm WSM.

NAA.

I am surprised there are not more 280 Rem fans here! I have one in a Ruger No1 and it is a great cartridge! If you are looking at a BLR however 7mm-08 is the logical choice.

I like the .280. It's a great round. With the 140 gr TTSX it's very lethal to large game. I also have a 7 WSM. I like it a lot as well. It shoots 154 gr rounds faster than the .280 shoots the 140's. Kicks a bit more, but not too bad.
Sounds like you want a lever gun. I'd say you should look for a .284 win, but if you can't find one, then get a BLR in .280 [would have to be used] or if you want new get it in 7WSM.
