Well 2011 is looking good to me check out this beauty in 44 Russian/ 44 Sp i picked up.
Just wanted to show her off. :)
This one is about as nice as a redone gun gets again its the gunsmith that counts.
I want this one to be a keeper but my over zealous collecting habits as of late might have to part with it and a few other choice guns in the next while.
if you look at the pictures close you will see the things that show true workmanship like a jeweled hammer the timeing and action spot on.
Very nice fast draw gun.
I love the real pearl handles on this gun to, The old pearl looks good on a gun with such a nice finish.
The Ser Numbers all match and i like the patent dates as well.
Hard to chose between this gun and a remy 1875 thats for sure.

Just got my 1st (1893) .41 cal. s.a.a. yesterday. Just happened to be my 41st birthday. No where near as nice as yours, but it appears it may have done some time at the LX Ranch in it's life. And an L.C.H. owned it at some time as that is etched into the bottom of the grip......

There's a coincidence - I just bought my first SAA yesterday, and it is also a .41, and also made in 1893.

Dingus, that is a beauty!

Between Win 38-55, Dingus and Bighornschris I don't know who has the nicer collection, but you guys seem to have some of the nicest rigs out there. Thanks for showing them off...

Well, I actually only own one antique pistol, so my collection is pretty modest to say the least. I have bought and sold a few but can't afford to own more than one nice one at a time.

Got this sweet SAA Colt today and its about the best gun i ever got.
better than the pictures i posted the seller gave me by a long shot,
The part that gets me going is the chamber throats are .428 not .435 like on most colt 44 Sps/ 44 Russians.
Ive had a few 44 sps/ 44 Russians and there chamber throats were all over .430 but to get a tack driver in most casaes its better to have bores match chamber throats.
The S&W DAs with 430 chamber throats shoot fantastic.
This guns action is better than my buddys brand new modern SAA colt :p
This gun was set up by a shooter not just someone wanting a pretty gun.
I will try and post some beter pics later.
My keeper pile just got a wee bit biger. ;)
