What a Deal for a major reloader with cash in hand

This came up on another thread. The conclusion was that it isn't worth it for resale or scrap and not very good to reload.

At about $1 /lb for scrap brass, a minimum bid of $4,000 is not a bargain. It is quite possible that a large majority of this lost is not suitable for reloading......

There was a auction on bcbid a few months back... Over 14,000kg of artillery brass... Should see the compliance paperwork involved just to make a bid on former D.O.D assets... Even some old APC superstructures required torching critical holes on site...

I will stick to range brass thanks.

"Prior to the release of assets to successful canadian bidders, they are required to be registered under canada's "controlled goods program" (CGP). Proof of your CGP license shall be required in order to complete the sale."

I am guessing they wont let this get out into general public hands anyways ???

Individuals are eligible to register with the CGD provided they consent to a security assessment and are ordinarily residing in Canada as either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.

Individuals or businesses that are eligible to register with the CGD must complete an Application for Registration and submit it along with a Security Assessment Application for each proposed Designated Official.
