What a little boredom and some imagination can do...

I was sitting at my reloading bench one day, thinking about what kind of pistol cartridge could I create from a 50 BMG.
I call the resulting cartridge the "700 Pile-driver Super Magnum"
For comparison, there is a 44 magnum in the photo as well.

That is an excellent picture.
I looked at the picture first and seen the magnum on the left.
Then I read the text.....Ooh it's magnum ,but not a 22mag. :)

If you made the case a bit longer, it would fit a 12 ga perfectly. Then get a SXS, cut it back to 10", cut the stock off to make a good pistol grip, and then you would have your Super Dooper Maganum.

looks like a giant 50ae, is that lead or just a painted material?

Here is some boredom i did a year back. (38spl necked down to 308. I believe i shot them too.)

Ganderite.........I do believe you are talking about a "Howda Pistol" of old........for close up work on tigers from the backs of elephants. When the tigers decided they should see who is actually in that basket on the elephants back, and possibly drag them from their perch and eat them...............

It would absolutely have to be a single shot without the crimp. If I was able to afford the shipping on the huge dies I could always shoot it in a revolver ........with a VERY large moon clip!

As far as the bullet, I trimmed the 50 BMG case down until I had good tension with a 12GA slug. Then I did a little "carving".

Recoil? Flinch? I'm already flinching and I don't even have the gun. LOL

Wouldn't that make a prohib device? Also, would a shotgun handle the pressure from something like this?
