What about a non restricted .22lr handgun?

Trying to recreate the "legal" UK target 50metre match pistols!! For those who don't recall that the Brits banned all handguns awhile back, the legal free pistols had 18inch barrels and two rear rods extending back at about 15-20 degrees. These made the UK legal but were the most hilarious things ever seen at a World Cup Match. Too stupid to contemplate.

That picture is of a Ruger 10/22 RIFLE, that has an 8 in barrel on it. It was and is a rifle.

And if you take that exact, identical receiver, and stamp "charger pistol" on it at the factory, it magically turns restricted right before your eyes!

Turns out no matter what, once a pistol .. Always restricted. Go too short = prohib!. So these are not stupid questions. We are just stupid people

Now if we can just get some 'common sense' revisions to the FA that would allow us to shoot our pistols on crown land... Wishful thinking I'm sure.
