I'm seeing alot of questions about which rifle to buy, Reminton 597, Savage or the 10/22 but what about the Bench Mark. Ya it's a couple of hundred bucks more but comes with all the mods done, heavy barrel ect. and the Thompson Centre name and lifetime warrenty.
I don't own one or have tried one but It's on my next to buy list.
Any comments and yes I know the 10/22 is the fave but I'm looking at out of the box reliability and accuracy :D

Out of the box, the older TC Benchmark Classic is what the 1022 should have been. Heavy, bedded barrel, target crown, decent trigger, robust mags, reliable action, bentz chamber.

If the new one is better, it will be a great out of the box rifle at that price point.

I'd wait. T/C is replacing the Benchmark & the Classic with a new design.

Apparently the new .22 will have among other improvments a redesigned extractor that does not have the barrel wearing problem that has been common in some guns.

Rod where did you get the info (link if you have one)and when do they expect the new model out?

I had an early Benchmark, it was a sweet rig. I had no complaints, but a few others here have.
Wanted bigger mags, and a better scope base selection.
