What Actually Constitutes 'Rare'....?

Rare for me is my Savage 99 TD in 250-3000 of 1915 in unfired condition and my Colt Custom SCG 1911 45 ACP ( one in Canada in 2016 )... JP

The definition of rare is fairly well known, rarely is rare used properly on the E.E.

If you have a rare gun that people are interested in.... you will rarely need to describe it as rare in order to get attention.

In terms of EE, I don't care if someone calls something rare or not, as long as it is appropriately priced. I know what I'm looking for, I know what is rare or not common on the used market, and if I don't, a quick search gives me additional info. What frustrates me more are little omissions wrt the condition - sometimes inadvertent for sure, sometimes i suspect not.

I have reported this post to the mods for excessive use of the word "rare".

ive got a M91 mosin on a 1894 Châtellerault receiver with a 1927 Tikka stepped barrel. one of 3000 ever made. with what would have been lost or converted over the wars i would assume its quiet rare.
