What addresses and info will the government look at when I mail in my application?

I took the firearms course for both my non-restricted and restricted and passed and that's all good. I have yet to mail in the paperwork though.

Now, the problem is I moved out of my parents house a couple months ago into my friends ( He has a couple rifles ) and I've kept all my addresses saying that I'm still at my parents. Obviously for the firearms registration the government will want to know where I really am.

What addresses would they look at, so I can get it changed? I put my drivers license info down on the paperwork, I should obviously get that changed. What about tax info, sin info?

You could just continue to use your parents address for everything and claim your current address is a temporary address. At least until you know you will be living there long term.

It helps for people who move around alot otherwise mail gets lost all the time.

I don't think this is a problem iwth non restricteds however once you have a restricted you will likely have to declare your current address as your primary address so that an ATT can be issued.

Im no lawyer though, best bet is call the CFC.

Hell my g/f has her drivers as her mom's address, her insurance at our apartment and gets some stuff delievered to each. This could get real interesting if she goes for her PAL and RPAL like she wants to.

We don't plan on living her for long though so its just a mess to change it all.

I would try to keep everything consistent. If I were you, I would use your new address to process your application. Also, do an address change with the Ministry of Transportation of your province and Canada Revenue Agency (SIN). Those will be the only addresses the CFC will be interested in checking, if any at all. If you're going to do it, you may as well do it right. I believe you have 30 days to report a change of address to the Ministry of Transportation. So make sure the change of address date on your CFC application is no more than 30 days prior to your D.L. change of address.

IMO, the CFC will be looking for signs that you are stable - ie not jumping from job to job every couple of months or changing your address too frequently.
