What am I looking for?

As per posts above - not sure any one has got it perfect, but lead me to consider "what" was jamming?? Turns out is not the follower or spring. With flashlight, looking inside the "problem child" magazine box, I could see rub marks of case jacket on the side walls - right at the rear edge - just below that divot / notch for the magazine retention - it is the rims of the cases that are "jamming" in there, not anything to do with the follower or spring. Now to invent and implement something to spread that rear of mag just a smidgeon wider than it is, at that point - so, yes, appears "dented in" right there - those drag marks are perhaps 1/8 inch (3 mm) diameter. But from slopes on 7.62x39 brass, the case heads really get tilted as that magazine gets loaded up, therefore the follower really "tilts" - I do not think the rounds are exactly the same position / orientation - front to back - when they come up through the mag, as when they are loaded into the mag - by inserting a flat tool down rear face and twisting, I can keep all rounds with noses tight to front - no binding at all - is only when cases allowed against rear face (the way I was shown to load Lee Enfield magazines like 55 years ago or so!!!) that the "jamming" occurs - so, not fixed yet - but is altogether different perspective what is going on, than I had earlier - thanks for the suggestions - they helped!!!

I will call this a "win", or at least I will take it as one - got a piece of 1/2" key-stock - 2 1/2" long - into bench vise and filed away at it with flat bastard file, mill bastard file, and hand smooth file until I got it more or less to 0.470" thick and the filed faces sort of parallel. I broke the now sharp corners and pounded that into that magazine box - which seemed to spread and perhaps straighten the rear end of it - re-assembled it, and for first time ever, it accepted the five "dummy" rounds without any drag or hang-up.

Yeee-aaaah butt, didjah pick the basturd child oar the gooder one tuh beet upppawn?....................:stirthepot2:

"dem hookay'n nawt stickers" kind of sorted me out - kept me on the "straight and narrow" - was a very likely possibility, though!!! Because of your comment, though, I did re-check all three - and damned if I don't have the "problem child" just a bit too fat in the centre - fits into the rifle - but does not come out as easy as the other two - pretty minor thing though - I can see and measure the difference - just have to get myself back to that "tin basher" mode and tune it up!!

If no clear window maybe a small clamp on the end with the spring,
I would hazard a guess you are getting hung up 1/2 way down at the mag latch.
Have a small fine file? run it down the inside, should feel any rough spots.
