hi all, going to start reloading 223, just looking for input for things to make the process easier, i've already got/will be getting:

-single stage press, components, multiple manuals, calipers, dies, trimmer, tumbler, debur/chamfer tool, lubepad, anything else? also i know any 556 brass will need the primers to be decrimped, will a "reamer" do the trick or is there a tool thats more effecient?

Scale, powder measure, trickler. Eventually you might get more things like a turning tool, bullet comparator. If you are into target shooting spend some time thinking about which dies are the best for you, maybe a micrometer bullet seater. Prophet River had a great sale on the RCBS kit that will save you some money.

A powder throw isn't really needed if you're going to trickle each load to weight on the scale. However you'll need some sort of scoop to dole out the bulk of the load. So something like the Lee dippers or make your own from cut down casings with a copper wire soldered to the outside.

Where the powder measure comes into use is if you're loading bulk ammo and you're willing to live with a "close enough" drop based on the volume instead of weighing each charge.

Don't need or want a lube pad for 223. You process that brass by the bucket. May as well lube it by the bucket, too.

If you are sizing a few cases, the case lube technique does not matter very much. If you have a bucket or two of brass to size, there is a fast efficient way to lube the cases. I lube 100 or so cases (rifle) at a time. Takes about 30 seconds.

I use Lee case lube. It is a water soluble cream that is easy to clean off.

Dump brass in a plastic pail that has a lid.

Then take a 1" worm of lube and smear it around the top inside wall of the pail.

Put lid on and swirl and shake for 15 seconds. This will lube all the cases and deposit a tiny dab on the case mouth, to lube t
