Rewording an earlier post let me ask this. Does anyone know what ammunition the Vancouver police use (Brand and mass?). I've heard Gold Dot but I don't know what mass.

Here's a question for you.....if someone gets their ATC are they limited to 10 round mags?

In BC the .40 cal ammo issued to municipal/city police for duty/carry use is 180 gr JHP's.

Speer Gold Dot seems to be common.

NAA.

No we don't.

147gr always

I just know when my brother was on the range with me, he was given Winchester Ranger ammo and I was on Winchesters website and there is no such thing as 147gr.

Oh well, I kept one of the cardboard boxes it came in and will look tonight when I get home

LE departments dont always use the same ammo to train/qualify as they carry. Im not RCMP but we use Speer Lawman FMJ to qualify and carry Federal Hydrashock 147 grain. So just because he had some 115 grain ammo doesnt necessarily mean thats what they carry, may have just been cheap(er) practice ammo the department bought for the range.

Winchester 147grain RA9T is one of the most popular LE 9mm loads out there right now.

back to the question, it really doesn't matter what they use as it rarely if ever leaves the pistol through the barrel anyhow.
