What ammo do you guys use in your 10/22's? is there a big difference between 36 grain and 40?

I've been using the Blazer 22lr, 40 grains.

Is there any advantage of the copper plated or hollow point?

I use american eagle 40 gr solid point and blazers. Price is a consideration for me the american eagle seem to work pretty good for the money. Hollow points are for hunting the bullet will make a bigger hole on impact

Yeah I was thinking of trying the federal ch next. I have a few boxes of the blazer, but they weren't cycling very well in my mags for me.

Winchester Super X Power Point 40 grian. Product code: X22LRPP
Smacks them hard, accurate to 200 yards & copper plated for slightly cleaner handling.

SK Standard Plus are a bit tighter shooting but are really designed for punching paper.

It always amazes me just how individual a thing this is... What works best for one person will make another person's 10/22 into a jamamatic failure...

I have great luck with the Winchester 333 and 555 bulk packs and absolutely awful luck with the Federal bulk packs.

Blazers, dynapoint, cci quiet, thunderbolt, pretty much without or with a small hollow point will feed flawlessly.

(I go through quite a lot of the cci quiet, loooove that round, will however not cycle the action but will not jam.)

Try cleaning your mags.

Just so y'all know, I find the Blazer is the shiznit in my 10/22, but when the mags stop working well, I find it's all the carbon and crap inside of it that's ####in up the show... :dancingbanana:

CCI Mini Mag, very clean, very accurate. Blazers were just too dirty for my liking, fouled everything up. Personal preference more than anything.

I use Fed 525 bulk pack seems to work just fine it really depends on the each firearm as some will like other ammo more then others and sometimes after you use it can shoot the ammo it had issuses with before just fine so it really depends on what it likes and if the springs are broken in or not.

I like Plated ammo because just lead (Blasers) foul up a barrel fast and really bad.

Eley Tenex red, Eley Black Box, SK, Lapua, and for sh!ts n giggles sometimes Federal Match... but my 10-22's aren't ruger anymore, lol.

Mine runs like a sewing machine with anything I care to feed it, be it HV bulk pack or subsonic target ammo. Currently, I'm using Winchester 555 in it.

cou: Reminton *gasp* Subsonics for bulk ammo.

You've got to buy a box of everything you can get your hands on locally, shoot some foulers from each, then handload magazines (no speedloader pulling/damaging the bullet) for accuracy testing..IMHO, YMMV etc.
