what ammo?

Hi, I bought a new m14 (norinco ) 7.62x51 and would like to use only factory loads not millsurp. What should I use that is safe and not dangerous . I plan to use the same load for hunting deer and moose and taget shoot. How well do low recoil ammo function. I'd like to know of a good brand and spec to use to break in the rifle and use continuously. And what grain should I use ..

if you look at the side of the receiver, you'll see your norinco m14 is stamped 308.. I haven't seen one stamped 762x51.. so whatever factory loads you can afford will work just fine... if you shoot a lot you may want to start loading your own.. the cheapest commercial stuff i've seen is UMC (remington) 150 grain FMJ.. goes for around 13 and change per box of 20... keep the brass for when you start to reload
