What are my compensator options for a flush fitting KKM threaded barrel?

Does anyone have experience with a compensator that sits flush with the slide on a KKM threaded barrel?

In my haste to buy before the tariffs came into effect I bought the last remaining KKM threaded barrel from a Canadian retailer. I realised later that the threads and length of this barrel are for a suppressor and not a compensator like I want.

Any recommendations?

Glock 17? 1/2 x 28 thread? How much does the barrel protrude from the slide? Is it too short or too long?

Not KKM but I had and Issue with an Agency Arms comp and threaded barrel being too short, when the threaded comp was installed it would bottom out on the slide before getting tight. I made some shims to shim it out giving it enough clearance between the slide

I have a few different comps one that does not have to be threaded on all the way is the ZEV, it uses a pinch style mount so you have some adjustment on how far it needs to be threaded on.

Glock 17 yeah with the 1/2 x 28 thread. The barrel sticks too far out.

I read online that the Zev compensator has about 5mm of barrel showing on this same barrel.

Doesn’t KKM make a comp for their threaded barrels, pretty sure I saw them when I was looking for a KKM barrel.

I think they only make a compensator for a specific barrel with an irregular thread pitch. I should have got that barrel and comp combo

You want a comp that has a "skirt" that butts up to the slide once it's threaded on?

That’s odd, was just looking at their faq’s. You think that they would offer a comp in 1/2x28 if they’re threading barrels for that pitch.

Just looked at mine and it’s a 9/16x24, so in the same boat but I didn’t plan on running a comp to be honest.

Thanks yeah I didn’t know the term skirt yeah that’s what I want so it butts up to the slide when it’s on.

I’ve read good things about PMM comps but not any information on how they fit with this barrel.

Also can’t seem to find PMM products in Canada, any advice on sourcing a compensator from them?

You didn't know the term because I just made it up. But I'm glad it got the idea across! And maybe there's a real word for it, not sure? I bought PMM comps through A-z-t-e-c Armoury?
