Evening boys,

So I realized right quick that for bench work I am going to need more then a 9x scope.
I recently relinquished my 3-9x40 bushnell 3200. Whow what a clear scope. But after taking a peek through it at 9x. I can hardly make out any thing at 200 yards. Let alone see where my holes are punched on the target.

I am looking for some thing that will withstand the shock of a 7.5x55 K31 rifle. I plan to do some hunting later on, ( just signed on for my CORE ). But for now its 90% paper.

I am looking at scopes at roughly 16-20x max magnification.
IE
Bushnell 3200 5-15x40
Bushnell Legend 4-16x40

I trust and read lots of good stuff about the bushnell line, not to mention not paying the big bucks.....

I am all ears on what I can get or what I should get, Preferably new or slightly used.

Thanks all.

Scope choice

Nikon buckmaster 4.5-14x40 excellent scope. You can get it from ebay.com for about $280 shipped.
Any Bushnell up to 4200 is junk!!!!!!!!!

I disagree completely as I love my Bushnell Elite 3200 10x40 scope. No issues with it whatsoever and I paid about $250 for it a couple of years ago.
I like the Nikons too though.

try and find any used leupold up to 15 power, really they outlast most and the warranty is transferable, you can get twice the optic for your money if you buy one used.

Nikons are nice for sure, and sure a Bushnell on the lower side of 4200 might not be the best scope in the world, but I wouldn't call them junk. I have a 3200 3-9x40 and I don't mind it at all.

nikon

x10 on the nikons. I have 5 of them now, all off ebay. the last was a 6-18x40 with a dot reticle. I paid $360 cad shipped to my door. It is excellent glass for the price.

I just don't trust e-bay,sorry but the Nikon guys in Canada won't warranty a "not bought in Canada" scope (they check serial numbers)as I was informed by the guys at P & D in Edmonton and who's to say it aint a chinese made copy ????
Am I paranoid.....??
TM.

No Tankman, thats a very good point, we do not warranty non Canadian purchased scopes. We'd like you to support our local dealers (like P&D) who in turn support us. Of course that being said our failure rate is very good and our scopes are rated to 1000g's of force so you can slap them on most guns without worry.

As for the OP's original question, depending on the price I'd recommend to take a look at either the 4-16x50 Monarch scope or the 6-18x40 Buckmaster if he's looking for a little lower budget.
