what are remington 3200 updates

The updates were done to solve the problem of cracks in the stock. To determine if they have been done, you can look for two things. The first is a dot (.) between the O and U in the serial number. The foolproof way is to look at the bottom of the breechface for two holes that have been drilled and plugged with allen head screws.
These updates were once done for free by Remington but not any longer.Laibs Gunsmithing(USA) is the preferred place to get it done now, however, the cost for a Canadian to have it done(shipping, exchange,GST and the likes) will prove to be pretty excessive now.

I guess to get the reciver upgrades down now days from what I've heard it runs around $500. The forearm upgrade is around another $200. I dont think it's really worth it to get it done on a gun that doesnt have them unless you can get the gun dirt cheap and in mint shape or already own it. I do on the other hand know a guy that has two 3200's of which neither has had any upgrades done to them and has never had a problem with either.
