what are some really good single shot rifles?

I had the Savage Mk I, Rascal n Cricket target / precision in mind when I asked.

I know about the CZ with the single shot mag adapter.

You haven't said anything yet about how much you're prepared to spend. On the other hand, perhaps this original question is simply to see what people suggest as answers to the question "what are some good modern day single shot rimfire rifles right now?"

it was intended as an open ended question to see what answers came. budget would be about $500 before scope. not against used either.

CZ455 Stainless with synthetic stock. AFAIK, this has a tapered barrel like the American. If you're thinking heirloom quality, this stainless and synthetic rifle may fit the bill. You can always replace the stock with a beech take-off from the EE or Boyd's laminate. If I didn't already have 4 452's I'd be considering this piece.

Are they all available in Canada? Who are the dealers for FWB, Tanner, or G&E?

- Anschutz are readily available through Nordic Marksmen
- The Tesro SBR100 (a re-worked Walther if I remember correctly) is available through Tesro Canada
- Walther are available though North Sylva
- Grunig & Elmiger and Tanner, need to order direct and then import it to Canada

And there's always to the option to go custom with a Turbo/Hall/Stiller/Baity's

And if you want something really different, Martini and Hagn makes a pretty-nifty falling block... and lets not forget the Dakota M10, Soroka Model 07, CPA Rifles and the E. Arthur Brown M97

I have a Suhl 150 [Hard to find, btw] It is without a doubt the most accurate 22 rimfire I have ever owned.
Shoots in the .1's and .2's at 50 meters with a certain lot # of ELEY Match EPS.
My 40X Remington is very close, with my M37 Remington in this ballpark as well.
Target from the 40X - 5 shots at each bull.

Dave.

very nice target Dave

Easier said than done.;) There's the reason there are so very, very few of them in Canada. Not many FWB's either.

Of course all this is moot in a thread about an inexpensive ($500 maximum) single shot rifle for a bit of non-competitive target shooting.
