What would be the chances of a Steyer Mannlicher M1888 bolt showing up for sale anywhere?
Been trying eBay, Numrich, etc.

Any ideas or leads ?

Thanks in advance

In truth europe is a good place to look, or just random google searches for Mannlicher 1888 parts.

Very difficult part to locate. If it is because you see one of those boltless M88s for sale, this isn’t a quick part to find. There is a reason they are all sold without the bolt and it is because that part is the most difficult part to locate. Some have searched for years and not succeeded.

Best of luck if you go down that route, easiest way to find one is to buy a rifle with one.

I had an m/1888 (original unconverted) missing the bolt and safety (as is usually the case). Had it hanging up collecting dust for over 5-10 years before I saw an ad selling an 1888/24 bolt (for the rifles converted to 8x57) which I purchased.

I then ordered a correct 1888 bolt head, and safety, and then purchased the correct safety screw off Amazon (actually a sewing machine screw) and I’ve got a functioning (and accurate) 8x50R 1888 Mannlicher.

Never give up! 😊

PS: anyone needing a screw for the safety, let me know, I had to purchase a dozen of them! Lol
