What are the laws surrounding private sale of ammunition ?

I have some ammo I am selling to another person.

What do I need to do to make it all legit .

Do I need to see some sort of ID ?

How do you know it's valid ?

If you call the CFC and ask them, they cannot tell you as per the privacy laws.

Valid, as in unexpired. Why would I call the CFC if he has what appears to be a valid PAL?
