So I sold my M&P sport II because I just don't drive to the range enough, but thinking I'll build a 223 NR for 'yotes. Seems like every time I turn around there's another NR option coming out, so can anybody run me through the options and pros/cons of each? Trying not to spend a ton but obviously these aren't rimfire builds. Open to preassembled, kits, or build from scratch.

ATRS MS
Stag 10
Macabbee SLR
Robinson XCR
WK180C
.....what else?

Get an order in with ATRS for a Modern Sporter. It may take 12 months but that all you can do. I’m the meantime just have fun buying and paying off parts for the build. It helps time pass. Or buy a beater other NR .223 then sell it when you get your Modern Sporter. There is not one unsatisfied customer I’ve ever heard of who has a Sporter.

They where saying December- January for orders in April

Rdb is pretty affordable and seems to be a pretty solid choice, also much more proven then the slr/coyote and wk and ws mdr

Also the Coyote could be a game changer due to price! But you know whats the difference between $2500 crap and $1500 crap? There none you just wasted more money so if they turn out to be crap then price dont matter. But at that price and with that feature set they could take a good share of the market if there solid.

In AR format the only good options are the macabbee or the ATRS, both are equally as good now. you have the bullpup iwi's. you have the rugers. And the cz58 in 233.
But for accuracy and quality the Macca and the ATRS in 223 is the go too for varmint shooting.

I would not say equally, as one use a clever tooless pin takedown and the other a sliding receiver with retaining screw. One use the 7075 aluminium and one 6061. One as a forward assist and one not.

Don't get me wrong the slr was still a great option but imo they killled themself with teaming up with bcl for the coyote.

I think they expanded their manufacturing capacity by teaming up, which is always a good thing no?

The ATRS MS is a top tier product. However it still is far to expensive compared to the Stags and Matrix's of the NR world.(yes I know these are larger caliber offerings)

I agree with the second part. Price and delay wise atrs cant compete with stag and stag has 95% the quality for 50% the price.

But on the first part, why is someone going to pay what?(correct me if I am wrong) $1000 for a bare receiver vs $1500 for a complete rifle? I mean add a rail and barrel to that receiver and you are already over that $1500!

The Maccabee SLR is made from 7075, same material as the MS.
The BCL coyote is 6061.
