What are these parts for please !

Actually, when he got off the train he asked his equerry for........

"I should like a cup of tea. I should like a cup of hot, strong, English tea."

Try ignoring that one at your local kaffeeklatsch!

BTW, did you know that you can fake quite a passable Wienerschnitzel from a Pork Loin Chop, a bit of Egg Wash and some Bread crumbs? Buck and a half a plate when the frozen Pork Loins are on for 2 bucks a pound. Serve with Lemon........ Yummm!

Afrika Korps never had it so good; they were down to "AM" by the time it ended: Italian tinned meat. The brand was rumoured to stand for "Asinus Mussolini": "Mussolini Mule".... in Latin, of course: MUST be properly Roman!

Hehe!!! Well, that figures! Considering the Kaiser was the eldest grandson of Queen Victoria.... Quite fitting wouldn't you say ol' chap!! :)

So do we say that the Royal Hohenzollerns were British, or that the Royal Saxe Cobourg Gothas (Windsors) were German??? I always get confused when it comes to royalty... LOL

Funny you mention Schnitzel! In fact, I make Ersatz Schnitzel all the time! Made it last week in fact... But I sometimes use pork loins, or, lately, White tailed Deer Backstraps from the Doe I got in November!! YUMMY! I like to serve with Red Cabbage, Perogies, Sauerkraut, Mustard, and of course, some good German Lager or Czech Pilsner! The perogies are the Ukrainian Mennonite in me coming out... ;)

....it also might have something to do with why I'm so frugal (read: cheap) and my desire to form Selbstschutz companies to protect from marauding bands of Anarchists and Bolsheviks!

Fun Fact: I tried SPAM for the very first time the other weekend.... Not horrible, but not great... Fried it up.. VERY salty!

Just thought I couldn't go through life having never tried SPAM! Though, I think I will pass on trying that Fascist Donkey Meat... :D

Heija Safari!!!!

fried egg, spam and cheese sandwiches are the best, if it kept Britain alive during the war, its good enough for me

Do you really mean that you don't know what all those parts are from that somehow got into your gunroom? Looks like you or someone has been stripping down a lot of mil-surps to get that many left over parts, or did you buy them as a parts lot!

alright I could be completely out of the ball park across the board but
1. that handguard looks like it may be from a PTR91 but I'm not an expert in 308 battle rifles.
2. second picture could be a P14 or M1917 triggerguard/magwell.
3. also second picture, the buttplate with the oval trapdoor is either from an M14/M1a or a M1 garand, I'm thinking M14.
4. I believe that the buttplate with the round trapdoor in the 3rd pic is an springfield or enfield buttplate(I don't have access to my rifles at the moment to tell which one).
5. 4th pic #12 is a M1 garand clip
6. 4th pic #21 is an AR15 spoon.
7. #19 is an enfield trigger guard/trigger assembly.
8. #20 is a mauser bayonet lug of some type.
9. #8 is an enfield L type sight.
10. #2 may be an enfield sight protector but I'm not certain.
11. #4 may be an arisaka stock band but I'm not certain.

I married a girl who has Ukranian Mennonite blood in her. I ate precisely what you've listed above at a "squarehead buffet"', and it almost cost me my marriage! The kraut had been homemade in a wooden pickle barrel, by her Omma-Babba. My wife now calls it "rote kohl bum", and I am strictly forbidden to partake of this cabbage in future. I made her actually vomit no fewer than 4 times during a 3 hour drive home, after eating that feast. The stink was still trapped in the foam of the driver's seat the following morning !

I literally LOL'ed at your response!!!! :D

The aftermath you describe is pretty much what happens here, except with less vomiting! ;)

My wife is part Menno, part Norwegian.... So... a Pacifist Viking!! At least I haven't been subjected to Lutefisk....

Fenelon, DF:

I think this meeting of the Menno's needs some hats made haha. And I for one can personally attest that DF's Ersatz Schnitzel is the Scheiße. Best I have had in a looong long time.

Yes I REALLY don't know what these parts are for.I bought them yrs ago with some Winchester and Cooey parts from a guy that worked at Winchester in Cobourg.Never did anything with them as I'm not into military stuff so just packed them away and forgot about them.

Sorry if I offended, just seemed strange to me that a member who has been regular user of CGN for 10 years would have more of an idea what most of these parts are. Most of these parts are from some of the most common Mil-surp rifles made.

Often it can be hard to relate the old chunk of iron in your hand with the teensy-weensy itty-bitty picture on the screen.

Gets worse when the chunk of iron is not absolutely perfect and the telephone picture shows one fully-reblued and up for sale as 'original' in the EE.

You didn't offend me at all !.I'm kinda ignorant to military stuff.I'll walk by a table with military on it to look at a Cooey 39 so to say.I have had a few in the past but it was only that they came in a package deal so they were out the door first.A newbie and greenhorn I am very much when it comes to military anything and this is the place to learn for me !
Thanks to everyone that helped out with name the part game !
