After FL sizing my once fired brass (lee dies) I noticed I was getting a ring around the base. what are these from? are these normal? Should I be concerned?

Normal case expansion marks--the body of the case expands slightly more than the solid (head) area of the case--the sizer die reduces the size of the body but it is likely (normally) slightly bigger than the solid head--nothing to worry about. If you start getting a bright ring encircling the case slightly further towards the mouth of the case after a couple of firings--that may be the sign of an impending case head separation--can be head space or die adjustment related.

These are normal marks. When you adjust your dies back them out until you see a little light between the shellholder and the bottom of the dies so that you only partially resize your cases. Try the sized empty case in your rifle if the bolt closes easily or with very little pressure leave the dies alone, you will have to resize a little more if the cases start getting hard to chamber, the whole odea being that you should only resize the cases the minimum possible, always.
