What are they worth?

Recently acquired a few handguns from my grandfather and, while I decide if I am going to keep them or not, was hoping to get some input on the approximate value of each. I have been through all the listings in the EE looking for similar examples but did not find many. All are photographed in "as-received" condition and have not been fired in many years. Obviously we are assuming they all function properly etc. Round counts are unknown. Also note that I tried to blur out the serial numbers so if the finish looks strange in that area that is why. Any and all input is appreciated!

#1 - Ruger MkI, .22lr. As pictured with one mag and a leather holster. No idea why there is a strip of masking tape around it, lets assume it doesn't fall apart into a million tiny pieces when the tape comes off.

#2 - High Standard Double Nine, .22lr. As pictured, some finish wear and small marks/nicks

#3 - High Standard Model 107 Military, .22lr. As pictured with one mag (could be two, see #4)

#4 - High Standard Model 104, .22lr. As pictured with two mags (could be one, one mag seems to fit both this one and #3)

#5 - Colt New Service, .45. As pictured with leather holster. I was told it is ex-RCMP. Stamped "M.P." which I tried to show in the fourth image.

#6 - Colt MkIV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match, .45. As pictured with one mag.

And lastly... This one is 12(6) prohibited so I do not own it. However, grandpa would like to pass it along to someone else so I am looking for a value so that I can help facilitate a sale for him.

#7 - Smith & Wesson 39-2, 9mm. Comes with one mag for sure, possibly a second.

Thanks!

Some very well maintained guns by the looks of them. As with anything price is variable and depends how long you’re willing to wait for the right buyer. I’ll ballpark the ones I know:

1. Ruger Mk1 $300.
2. HS Double 9 $250.
3. HS 107 - Depends where it was made. E. Hartford $500 , Hamden $600. Add $50 for another functional mag.
4. HS 104 - Last of the slant grips, early Hamden production 104, barrel weight & both mags. $700. Beautiful gun btw, looks mint.
5. Colt New Service - No idea.
6. Colt Gold Cup - $1200?
7. S&W 39 - $350-400. Prohibs are cheap! Wish I had 12.6.

Best of luck.

TT is on with the ruger, I sold one more wear , but super trigger for 300.oo
the 107 is the high end of the supermatic line, I would add another 100.oo
new service? 900.oo-1000.oo?
Gold cup 1400.oo
The 39, I have in last few weeks measured 2 and they where over the 105 length, so restricted, happens with these , there is a FRT # for 106mm.
Don't go by what is on the cert as they where not measured all the time, just presumed to be 4 inch, use a good ditial caliper and check it, from bolt face to end of barrel, don't measure on the firing pin. the last one I did was 105.3mm=restricted

Thanks for the replies guys!

Marshall, I really appreciate you pointing that out about the Smith, I had no idea. I will check the length the next time I am in town.

On the EE?

Ruger MKI - Vintage collectible 1st edition $1200 no lowballs.
HS 2-9: Historical collectors item. very rare $900 no lowballs.

HS107: High end competition target pistol. $1600. No lowballs.

Colt new service: modern take on an old classic. a steal at $1400. lowballs will be ignored. Bonus, rotten leather holster full of used kleenex.

Colt s70 cold cup: most desirable series 70, ultra rare only 1.2million ever made. $3500. Lowballers will be shot....down.

S&w: Free to a good home.

Definitely look into that 39 as a restricted. In the process of having a dealer reclassing one, but it's a bit of a slow process. Had one a few years back, never should have sold the darn thing. Value? Mine went for 900 years back. Not sure about now.

Laugh2 so true

Double checked the barrel length on the Smith and it looks like it is indeed 101 mm so it looks like it stays as prohibited.

I know it doesn't show very well in the picture, but does anyone know the significance of the "M.P." that is stamped on the Colt New Service? I was told it is ex-RCMP but have no way to verify that. My first thought, given that the stamp does not include "R.C." is Military Police but I have no clue if that is even possible. Would be neat to find out what it's history is. If I can figure out what organization it was issued by maybe there is records somewhere that I could check the serial number against...

There are maybe better fellows out there on RCMP stuff, I would say that is RCMP, seems to me I had one from RCMP and marked that way.
BTW, the Hi standard mags, the red base one are for the early model slant grips, like your 107, all the slant grips mags and Military grip mags are the same other the lock up, so if it locks in , will work. but both those are for the 107, the real early Hi Standard ones are different, before the 100 series.
sorry about the S-W, luck of the draw, the one I just sold that was just over, you could see a bit of barrel sticking out, 1/16-1/8th", I have shipped it so can't look again.
I would love that Cold gold Cub.
I have a weak spot for Hi Standards also.

The MP stamped on the gun indicates that it was an RCMP issue firearm, obviously from back in the days when government firearms were routinely auctioned of to dealers.

The good old days before Lieberal stupidity took over.

I believe that they still stamp their guns that way.
