Hello,
I have a Excalibur crossbow im looking to part with, need money for my first truck.

It's a Phoenix-Package CROSSBOW - 175 lb. Draw, 14.5" Power Stroke, 305-FPS, Manual Safety, with Dissipator Bars Sound & Recoil Suppression System, with Excalibur "Vari-Zone" Multi-Range Scope 2-4 X 32 mm, Scope Mount, Scope Rings, Excalibur 4-Arrow Quiver, Quiver Bracket, 4 Carbon easton Arrows & with 3 Muzzy 100 grain broadheads and 1 muzzy target broadhead. Also has 2 string silencers, and a string loader makes cocking super easy. It's only been used 1 season. It's got a little rust on some of the screws. It's also missing the rubber ring on the back of the scope that protects your eye from recoil, although its not needed no recoil. I also got a padded camo soft case for it. Do you think I could get $550 plus shipping?

Thanks! :D

I agree, but would add that the tax you paid doesn't count as part of the price you paid.

Cheers
Jay

Ok $550 seems to be about right then. The bow at SIR is $700 minus $35 broadheads, cocker $22 and the case which cost $69

didnt they have that package on special at LeBarons for the longest time (around 4-6 months) for around $550-599?
i seem to recall looking at it at that price, but decided to wait and see what they rolled out in 2008.

yeah, i was right:

despite the fact that Excaliburs are hands down the best bow and recurves are far more durable than compounds, there is still a lot you can do to damage a crossbow. i would not risk that to save less than $100.

at a $600 new selling price, your starting price as soon as you use the thing drops to around $450, and only goes down from there depending on the condition of the bow. regardless, many people dont keep up to date with current prices (this explains used Stevens 200s selling for $350+) so the answer to your question of:
'will i be able to get $550 for it' is 'yes'.

$600 is a nice price for the new bow but thats with out the $70 case and the $22 cocker, $35 broadheads. even with that deal after you get the other stuff your back over $720 new without tax. I think I still got the receit in the box at my friends, that would give you 4 more years under warranty. I've only shot it 40-50 times it splits arrows at 35 yards, probably would at 40 but I got tied of wasting arrows. I think I'll try for $500 once I get the box with dvd and everything else from my friends. :D

You do not need a receipt to get warranty work, if you ever need it. I know a lot of people with these bows from many, many forums, none of them have had trouble with getting warranty work, regardless of the age of the bow.
I have dry fired mine more times than I care to admit, two of those times resulted in damage, both were fixed at the factory same day, no cost even after I explained it was my fault.
Do not hesitate to buy a used Excalibur.

yeah, especially for Canadians, choosing an Excalibur bow is pretty much a no-brainer.

btw - dont let me discourage you from asking for $550, im just a negative bastard :)
someone will buy it for that much, just telling you why i wouldnt pay it.

I bought a used Excaliber for my dad some years back from someone in the USA. He threw in all kinds of extra goodies with the xbow worth quite a few bucks. I had bought this xbow for my dad and my dad is still amazed at how accurate and reliable it is. I also have the same model (Exomag) and just can't say enough about how nice this xbow shoots. I had some trouble with one of their scopes and within the week I received a new one from them no questions asked. These are quality xbows and quality people making them. You can buy these blindfolded and not worry. Anything broken will get fixed quickly and generally for free.

All threads involving Excalibur's go in the same direction, Happy, happy people. I sure wish other companies would follow in the direction those people bring to their customer service.
Oh, and the guys in the states will get the same outstanding service, their man over there is named Danny Miller, the US customer service rep.
You can reach him at [740] 483-2312, he will answer any and all questions, as well as provide the same service that us Canucks get.
