judging by some of the past Bills in this type of situation, the house will break for xmas with nothing accomplished, come back in the new year with a full on hard on for an election. The bill will die in the house until after the election. Someone will pick up a new bill and start over in under the new government. Likely a ton of changes. Maybe even some stripped out version with no real consequences. Then quietly pass it. People will only remember the fuss prior to the election, be so enthralled with the hype around the election fever, and assume the bill passed and/or forget all about it (the non-gunnies anyway).
Idk, we can hope. But there is a pattern. fuss fuss, election, new fuss about something else....seems like that's 'the game'.
