What are you loading for 9mm Major

Most but not all factory ammo will make minor. However, some of those appear to be commercial reloads which are more of an unknown. Are you sure the chronograph you were using was set up correctly?

I don't know to be honest. In 20 years of shooting, this is my first chronograph that I bought for $50 at a gun show last year. Haven't used it prior to today. It is an old Alpha Master Chrony as shown in the attached photo below

CamPro 124gr FCFHP
CCI Small Pistol Primer
CFE Pistol 4.8gr
1.115" COL
Mixed range brass
If you can confirm that your Chrony is good, I think your 4.8gr of CFE is a little light. 4.9 would get you right around 1000fps.....BUT, check a few different manuals

Thanks for the tip. IIRC the max load was around 5.1 so I should have a little bit of play room hopefully. I won't have time to reload a few hundred rounds before the match, but I'll work on this for the future. I wish I hadn't left chronographing to 2 weeks before the event, but I had assumed factory ammo would all be a-ok. It's just another thing that makes it a little tougher to get into the sport since there isn't a "run what you brung" category for those who just want to dip their toe in without buying a bunch of extra gear or getting into reloading. I understand they don't want people gaming the system by making super light recoiling rounds, but a 3rd category would be nice maybe for beginners; say have a Major, a Minor, and a "what I found at the LGS" even if it only allows you to participate without "officially" ranking

It is *probably* OK but is somewhat of an unknown quantity - maybe it is off a little?

Can you borrow another cronograph to verify?

I've put out feelers for another chrono. Until I can verify I will shoot the Blazer that math'd out to 135 PF, so even if the chrono is a little slow, this ammo is a guarantee good to go. Like mentioned previously, I don't have a lot of it, but it'll do me for the weekend for sure

Are you shooting an IPSC match?

If so they generally chrono the ammo so if their numbers match your number for the Blazer at 135 then you know your chrono is good.

Ya I'm shooting my first ever match since taking my BB last year. I plan to bring the Blazer, but also bring a box of each other to see if there is time after the matches to verify my chrono results. I also plan to stop in at the local gun shop where I'm going and buy one of each brand of 9mm they carry to bring home to determine what else works in my gun if requires

In my experience any factory ammo is quite a bit hotter than my reloads (which I make for 130 - 135 PF). I mean noticeably hotter with quite a lot more recoil.

I have family visiting right now and I took them to the range, gave them a full mag with 5 rounds of 147gr reloads followed by 5 rounds of 147gr factory and the difference was very noticeable. Much more recoil and even the sound level was significantly higher.

When you confirm your chrono is accurate I would persevere with the reloaded ammo until you find the sweet spot.

I haven't bought any factory handgun ammo in a long time, but I seem to recall that Winchester White Box was notorious for being under powered.

There’s a lot of dust on my progressive and more than a few seasons since I shot IPSC but I don’t think your chronograph is wrong.
Not just load data sums up chronograph results and not all chronographs read the same, but usually they are fairly close if tested side by side on the same day.
Atmospheric’s affect the numbers considerably, altitude, humidity and temperature.
Chrono at sea level on a humid cold day and then chrono at a couple of thousand feet in hotter drier weather and don’t be surprised when you get different numbers…
In IPSC, unless they changed it, allows you to shoot if you don’t make the power factor but it isn’t for score so it’s just a (hopefully) fun day at the range practicing fundamentals with a beeper.
If you are a new shooter trying to get past your black badge just buy the Blazer so you can focus on the match, you don’t need to be preoccupied with ammo quality while under the stresses of trying to certify.
