I was thinking about arsenal management the other day as I am currently shedding a gun to trim down the fat. I came up with this list as what Id want to have to cover the gamut of bolt rifle shooting. Not near to owning all of it yet.

Posting it of course cause Im curious to know what other folks have going on

CZ 452/savage- An accurate bolt .22 for training. Cheap scope and sights as well.

Win Model 70/CZ 550- A heavier .308/30-06/270 for enjoyable scoped shooting that wont knock you down like a light gun. develops proficiency under recoil.

Browning X bolt/Tikka T3, etc...etc.. - A really light, possibly synthetic/stainless, dedicated hunting rifle. Shot at the range to sight in, then shot 1x at a beast for dinnermaking. Too light to be a fun shooter. .308/30-06/270.

1 decent military surplus bolt (mauser, mosin, enfield, k31) Because theyre awesome. open sights + bayonet in case of zombies

Accurate rimfire for plinking, grouse, pests etc.......CZ 452 American, Remmy 541S.
BR 22 rimfire for serious stuff.....Suhl 150, Remmy 40X, Annie 54.
Light rifle for varmints only...........222 Remington, 225 Winchester, 220 Swift.
Light rifle for up to deer size game.....6mm Remington, 257 Roberts.
Medium rifle for most big game that does not bite back....6.5x55, 270 win, 7mm SAUM.
All-round rifle....30-06, 8x57
Bigger 30 for those longer shots at Elk, moose etc.......308 Norma Mag, 300 Win Mag
Heavy hitter for stuff that will eat you.....338 Win mag, 358 Norma Mag
A 375 H&H, just because, lol.
Regards, Eagleye.

An accurate .22 centerfire,
A long range varminter in .243 or .25/06,
A deer rifle, short, light, and quick to use, but flat shooting; 6.5X55 class is perfect,
A general purpose big game rifle in .30/06 or .300 magnum,
An African general purpose rifle chambered for a big case .375 or .416,
A dangerous game rifle: a .375 for North America and a .458 or larger for Africa and Asia,
An extreme long range target rifle of the Lapua/Cheytac variety,
The niche rifle - a rifle for a specific purpose like sheep hunting or personal defense,
The just because class - those rifles you have just because you want them, even though they don't do anything any better than one of the rifles listed above.

Wow!!!!.............

Your taste buds are bang on..............;)

I don't think arsenal is the correct term ... but there are a few sporting firearms of interest. A very accurate custom 77-22 with 2 barrels. One a heavy 17HM2, the other a heavy CZ barrel with a 22LR match chamber. An accurate custom stocked/barreled 7mm-08. An accurate custom 338-06. A couple of accurate 6mm BR's. A lightweight 20 gauge 870. If it's a rifle it has to be accurate.

Marlin xt 22lr plinking and small game
Savage Axis 308 for the bigger pests and longer range target shooting
Mosin 762x54 because they are so much fun to shoot

cheers

My current bolt action "arsenal" looks like this:

Anschutz 1450 fullstock carbine .22 LR - plinking, small game and training
Anschutz 1418 .22 mag - nuisance beaver control shooting
Anschutz 1433 fullstock carbine .22 Hornet - forest country furred game

Sako AV classic 35 whelen - elk

Of course that doesn't include singles, levers and combination guns, but for bolt actions, I think that about covers it, but I might still need a sheep rifle...
