What Are Your Favorite .308 Loads.

Anyone have a good load for 155 hpbt palma match with varget?I used to have one similar to the one above but I can't remember it since I haven't shot 155's in years.

45.6 grains of Varget with 155 grain Lapua scenars.
45.7 grains of Varget with 155 sierra Palma match or 155 grain Nosler Custom Competition or 155 grain Bergers HP's.
Shooting out of a Savage 12F\TR
Best group at 100 yards is .204 with 45.7gr varget and 155gr Nosler CC. This is the same load that touches things at 1422 yards.

46gr of Varget with a 155 or 168SMK.

Not really a hunting load, but would work with pretty well any 150-165 grain jacketed bullet.

Just bought a .308 and want to know your favorite loads.

I fired three shots touching that measured 1/2 inch at 100 yds with 46 grains of Reloder 15 under a 165 Hornady Interlock. The rifle is a Remington 600 with a short 18.5 inch barrel with a new Weaver fixed 6x scope. This combination was safe in my rifle, in yours it may not be.

My favorite load fot my Steyr Scout 308 is 165 grs SST Hornady over 47.5 grs of BL-C2 BR-2 CCI primer Federal Cases oal 2.825 to fit the mag, this is a FULL THROTTLE LOAD CAREFULL... Very powerful... Very very accurate... JP.

The load that you'll find the majority of guys using for TR/Palma out to 1,000 yards is something between 46 and 47 grains of Varget and the 155-grain Palma bullet. Some rifles and brass prefer it closer to 46, and some like it closer to 47. A good average is probably 46.5 grains of Varget.

Most of us are getting velocities above 2,970 with this load out of 28-30 inch Palma barrels, and it works well at 1,000 yards.

This year, the Palma team is using Vihtavouri N150 with 155.5-grain Bergers.

46 gr varget or 45 gr IMR 4895 with 165 gr Hornady BTSP.

47 Varget with 150 grain ballistic tip or accubond. 150 gr hornady flatbase with 47 varget is another good one.

Use rem or win brass and CCI 200 primers

My Win 88 likes 42grs Varget/165gr Rem CL
I am in the middle of working up loads for my new TC Icon-43.5C (Max)IMR 3031/150gr Rem CL put 3 rounds in a ragged circle @100yds
I am going back to Varget and working up 165gr BTSP Hdy IL loads.

When hunter class shooting was in vogue a few years back the .308 with IMR 4895,Hogdon 4895
39.5grs +or_ and 4064 light loads with 168gr sierra,s they where the winners, not really good load past 300y but truly deadly at 100 & 200

Her one of my favorite for yotes out of my Steyr Scout 110 grs V-max 52 grs of BL-C2 CCi Br-4 primers OAL 2.795 this 3275 fps of pure destruction on yotes... JP.

My rifle likes 47 1/2 grs of Win 748 165gr Hornady Interlocks . This load works for me.

Straight Shooting

Budweiser that one is hot, but I agree on your choice of combination. You are right on Speer No 10 max.

The load I standardized for reliability through all action types, with great accuracy(The best through my BLR 81 which says alot about a loads forgiveness) was a similar load to yours. I sold it to many friends and it killed many deer cleanly. Probaly 40 to 50 deer! The Hornady spire point was the economy hold together and fully expand, wonder bullet of 30 years ago.

Hornady 165gr Spire Point FB
46.5 grs Olin 748 (1gr under Speer No 10 max)
CCI 250 primers

When Im allowed to set my press up again( Sorry Dear).

Ill try it in the Norc M-14s. I bet it will rock there too.;)
