What are your thoughts on the NEA-15?

Just my 2 cents, but Im much more impressed with spikes than with norinco or dpms (I have no experience with core15 so i can't comment). I suppose the quote is 'as reliable', and I agree as i haven't really seen any reliability issues with Norc or dpms either. Guess im just a bit of a fan of spikes components and find their quality superior. Again, just my opinion.
Cheers

P.s., sorry for the derail

Bought a z-marked upper/lower matched set that was a bit out of spec. To their credit NEA made it right.

I too found it a bit odd that Spikes Tactical would make the list of "valued" AR's. They may not be the best on the market but I would put Spikes well ahead of the rest on that list.

do you just pull this stuff out of thin air or is your googlefu so strong that you can search the secret X Files stash of info.

The original guns that you complained had poor staking had DPMS bolt carriers. No other parts were DPMS and there were about 50 with those bolts I think.

Fo shizzl!!

For those who don't speak "Dirt" his advice is to spend a little more and buy a Colt. IMO there are other better brands as well as Colt that could be had for slightly more coin than an NEA. Just an FYI, the receivers and their handguard are made in Canada, the guts are DPMS out of the USA.

not worth the risk IMO.

Hey the gangs all here now except the "pink" guys.

We have very few warranty claims these days with NEA. Yes the very early guns had issues but they don't any more or they are few and far between. NEA also has a great warranty and cleared up any past issues I am aware of.

I love these threads, they push sales up every time.

Could you tell us who and where the lower parts are made?? Inquiring minds would like to know. As for the DPMS bolts/carriers, they're far from quality as well. I do believe NEA was marketing the AR's as "Canadian made" which would be a lie as you've indicated the BCG is/was DPMS. Are they still DPMS groups?

Dude! I just said there were 50 guns with DPMS bolt carriers a long time ago. You might want to see your doctor and tweak your meds a bit ;)

How is that stuff grouping at 500m?

Not sure if you're being sarcastic? My range is limited to 200 meters unfortunately. I have other (non restricted) platforms for longer ranges.
7.62x39 was never designed for tight groups at 500M, as I'm sure you know.

It's less than half the cost of commercial 223 though. It allows me to shoot more and still put food on the table.

I hear a guy makes them on a machine. Sometimes when he's sick another guy makes them.

Honestly, I don't think it really matters. Have you asked Ford who makes the retaining clip on them gear assembly of the Mustang GT too?

We all get you hate NEA's. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on stuff but please stop spouting off lies, false information and making up stuff.

Does the 7.62x39 platform come in 10.5"?

Its quite simple Ryan, either NEA makes their internals or not, and if they don't who does? You either have the answers to these questions or you don't. So either put up or stop posting unfounded data. You seem proud to be selling NEA guns so shout it from the rooftops, who makes their internals???

Here's my experience with NEA stuff..

First of all, great service from R&M @ SFRC :)

I got an upper (no barrel/bcg) from them and it was standard fit, no complaints about that or the finish.

I got a stripped lower that is also standard fit, no complaints, some things they do differently than other manufacturers but all in all, no complaints.

I borrowed one of their 22lr uppers from a buddy. That one didn't work out so hot. 1-2 FTF's per mag, also very loose fit, rattles like crazy.

That's all folks :)

I got my NEA upper in 7.62 X 39 in November. I liked the fit, finish and quad rail full length handguard. Including the bcg and XCR mag. I picked up a lower from a fellow CGN'er and just got it this week. They fit like a glove together. The lower has a A2 butt stock And DPMS internals. Range report soon. I know that it goes bang because Ryan @ SFRC sent the empty cases with the complete upper.

I thought NEA builds the bolts and guts or maybe the advertising let me to believe.
I think these should be in the $800 range. Over 1000k is too high. I would rather have a Colt

I had light strikes on some military ammo with my Norinco lower with DPMS trigger swapped in. I added an extra power hammer spring by Wolff and it's 100% now. It's a pretty heavy pull now though.

Not sure if owners are experiencing this with the complete NEA 7.62 rifle, but I haven't heard of it. Maybe they use an extra power hammer spring.

If I could re-set I'd just get the complete rifle.

To the OP - my suggestion is find someone local to you that has an NEA and see if they will let you have some trigger time so you can make an informed decision based on first hand experience. Every one that owns an AR will have their own opinion on whIch one they prefer. Just like cars, trucks, bikes etc...

Is an NEA the best AR out there - probably not. Do I like mine - absolutely. Zero regrets. I carried a C7 for several years and personally don't think there's is much of a difference except for the rock and roll function of course.

If you are ever in calgary shoot me a pm and you can give mine a try - you buy your own ammo.

Cheers

Marc

Did you get one of the first ones?
