what auto shot gun is good for 3 gun matches

Completely tricked out Benelli M1 in the classifieds. FYI
Throw in Stoeger M3500 for a low cost option.
I would not recommend Mossberg 930 at all. Stoeger as a step up - Benelli knockoff. Versamax is a good option with that receiver but break here and there - don't worry you can buy Benelli parts to replace as Remington completely ripped off Benelli. Then there is the top of the line - Benelli. Expensive but man they just work.
Possible knock on Benelli is the action works on recoil - fixable with light recoil springs - recoil is a factor with it's light weight. Versamax is light recoiling with it's gas action but it's a heavy pig - makes a difference in big matches.
Don't forget about pumps. Benelli Super Nova is a great option. 870 and 590 as well only if they have 3.5" recievers. Makes a big difference.
Other things to consider is in Canada any box fed shotgun is a pos. I don't care what country makes it or how tactical it looks. If it hasn't been mentioned previously in this thread walk on it if your looking for three gun.

Benelli m2 , versamax, stoeger m3000, basically all copies of the benelli at lower cost. They all need port work,i have yet to see a mossberg not jam at a 3 gun. Pump shotgun isnt as fast as a semi in a sport judged by seconds. The beretta is light and fast, but aftermarket parts are just starting to trickle out the door. If your rich, the m2 with all the tti upgrades, if your not as rich the versamax with the same tti benelli parts. If your on a budget, the stoeger takes the same m2 parts with minor mods. The beretta is in the same price range as the versamax. PS the versamax shell catch is horrendous and needs the half moon mods done on it for fast loading. I just cant c myself throwing around a $3000 dollar shotgun around into barrels, for that much i could buy 2 versamax tacticals all gucci'd up. Although my ar 15 with optic has over $5000 into it now and i chuck it into barrels without mercy lol.
I have the Versamax 22 inch Turkey Edition, an S&J Hardware mag tube extension, and I'm perfectly happy that I got it right the first time. The cost is at the low end. 7 in in the tube plus one ghost plus one in the chamber is fantastic starting capacity if starting from loaded, function is superb, I really like the rifled sights. Not picky about ammo. Interchangeable choked is awesome.
All those suggestions are good but if you want a quality, inexpensive auto loader, look at the Turkish Hatsan MPA. Just over $400. and loaded with options. There are a few floating around our Club and we are very happy campers.

Stoeger M3500 would be my 1st vote for a semi.............all the benefits of a Benelli at a fraction of the cost. The larger loading gate for 3 1/2" shells makes the "load2/load 4" method of reloading easier with the 2 3/4" shells. You will need to break it in though. Everyone I know who shoots it at matches all say the same thing.
Versamaxx has a good reputation as well, but it's a few hundred more. It will get dirtier and require more frequent cleanings than the Stoeger, owning to the differences in how they cycle (the Stoeger uses inertia to cycle whereas the Remington uses the gas). If not cleaned often and properly, the Versamax will jam on you.
Personally, I use my 870 with a mag extension to get me to 8+1 (so there's my 9). It's a little slower, but it always works. At the level I'm at, it's more than sufficient. The advantage of a semi is meaningless if you can't re-load quickly. I beat out most other semi shotguns with my pump action because I spent a lot of time getting my re-loads to be quick. Once I see that I've hit a plateau, I'll then transition to a Stoeger most likely .

Love mine. Not a hiccup yet. All stock except tube extension.
Lighter than a M4 (by a lot), supposedly faster, easy to ghost load, agruably easier to load, cheaper, etc. It won't run down doors like a Benelli, but it'll rip hauls out as fast as you can pull the trigger and be less fussy with the ammunition to boot.
I also have a Benelli Supernova. It's a tank, and a peice all in one. Feels cheap, good thing it works.

Yea but the JM930 you buy off the shelf is nothing like the shotgun he actually uses.... it's probably a Benelli underneath. lol.
