what auto shot gun is good for 3 gun matches

I can't speak for anyone else's gun but my JM Pro runs like a top for me I just used it in my first ever 3-gun match without any problems. It has around 400 rounds since the last cleaning and no fails.

Hatsan MPA with a "Canada Legal" tube extension.

Granted, I've shot at exactly 2 matches, and only 1 with the Hatsan, but so far it runs fast and reliable, and you can set up 3 of them (extension included) for what it would cost to set up 1 Benelli.

At some point, I might venture into Benelli land, but to get the basic skills and speed down, Hatsan fits as a decent choice without breaking the bank.

They're all pretty good. Some people have had better experiences with some over others. They will all fail to operate properly at some point. It's like the early days of computers - buy what your friends have - you can learn from them.

Best advice right there. One of the reasons I got the Hatsan is because they're strangely popular at my club, a number of other guys are using them, and using them well. It provides an instant base of knowledge to work from.

I've been shooting a LONG time, (as in, more than 3 decades), but shooting fast and competitively is a new thing for me. Being able to swap knowledge with the people around me is more important than the actual gun I choose to use.

It guided my entire 3-gun kit (AR-15, Beretta 92fs, Hatsan MPA) - because the people I shoot with use those guns, and we can trade tips and tricks back and forth.

SBE11 24", A400 Extreme 26" both are 3.5" chamber,- 1301, M2 21" or 24" for 3" chamber

its a little hard to get some of these models in Canada, but we have a few importers- Phrophet River, IRun Guns, if you are willing to wait and I would not say more expensive, sometimes it cheaper getting from them. just little Patience is needed.

Speaking with friends who have owned them, seems as though things wear out and the timing goes out.
feeding issues, extraction issues, odd parts breaking, gas system malfunctions...
never owned one myself.

Reputable source in the US said that for competition use, guns start having issues at around 5k shells.
that's more than many in this thread will ever see so may never be an issue for them
for others, that may be unacceptable

p.s. 300 rounds is not an indicator of a guns reliability.

What gives out on them? Just curious.

I've read that the firing pin can start mushrooming as well where it gets hit by the hammer. Even mine started to do this (very minimally) after a few thousand rounds. It never caused any problems, but I did see it.

I don't shoot 3 gun, just trap and sporting clays. I have a 11-87 from the early 90's. I've heard that people have problems with them but I have yet to see it. Its had over 12,000 hulls cycled through it and its never failed on the line. I replace the oring every year and have replaced the action spring once, just cause I heard that it should be done. I maintain it very well and maybe thats why it still works well, dunno.
