What bases/rail and rings for a BAR in 308?

My cousin just dropped off a Browning BAR in .308win. It has never been scoped. He bought a Bushnell Legend 3-9x40 he wants me to put on it.
What kind of bases/rail and rings combo should I get for it? And where? It has a steel receiver as far as I can tell.

Also, are the scope base holes the same distance apart on short and long actions?

EGW makes nice picatinny rails if you want to go that route, Brownells usually has stock.

I put Talley one-piece rings on my BAR, Prophet River has them in stock. Low rings worked fine with a Vortex Viper 3-9x40 scope.
