what brand name of AR15

Stick with a brand name. Only real info to offer! This subject has been discussed at length on many occassions. Just do a search for it here using the forum's tool bar.

Oh yeah.... after you get it, support your local club! Make sure you bring it to the range and USE it.

Regards,

Dlask Arms in Delta, B.C. make an excellent rifle. The DAR-701 rifle is made from a M4 configuration. Going price is approx. $ 1800.00 + tax. Check out their site (www.dlaskarms.com ) , well worth it to have a custom made rifle and not one that's been sitting on a shelf for months.

I had an armalite m4, and it worked great. Just might have to get me another one.

Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt, and DPMS (the ABCD brands) are all good quality.

Yep, and don't forget R :p RRA is the cheapest, now that is, due to Questar at around $1200 and are very good quality. But as for Dlask, I would recommend them 110%, they are the 'home team' and we need to support them. So I'd say if you're buying a new AR in Canada, give Joseph a call;

As well, with Dlask, you can order an 11.5" or 14.5" the day you want it and by transfer time it will likely be ready, if you want a barrel shorter than 16" it's getting rare in the big US makers due to the fact the US doesn't issue export permits for sub-16" barrels these days....

So go Dlask my son! :p

I just got back frome the SHOT show, and one of the things that amazed me was just how many companies are now punching out AR clones. Smith & Wesson are now introducing one.
A guy could make a pretty good collection just of one gun from each maker.

Any of the ABCD's are good to go. (mil spec)
I would strongly recomend building your first AR yourself.
I built my first one from parts I picked up here on CGN.
Saved a bit of money, but more importantly learned a great deal about AR-15's while doing the build.
