What budget LPVO had the truest 1x?

I found the Burris to not be a true 1x.

I just picked up a used Crossfire II and am very impressed. The 1x is great and the eye relief is out of this world.

I’ve got one. The 1x has some minor distortion around the edges but otherwise has incredible clarity, well beyond its price point, and is very clear at higher magnification. I like the reticle as well.

The minox ze5.2 1-5x24 has amazing 1x. It has been superceded by the all rounder 1-5x24. Amazing glass for the price. Go big tactical is the distributor here in Canada and they are amazing to deal with, but there is a used one on a certain optics-trading site in Europe for 1k that comes with a qd pic mount, which would allow you to swap it between your rifles.

If you can live with a German number 4 reticle it's great. The dot is daylight bright.

Catching up on this thread, it feels like every thread asking for recommendations on OP's criteria inevitably has someone suggesting something completely outside the criteria.

I want a budget scope: Have you tried Trijicon ($1000+ scopes) or Swarvovski ($3000+ scopes)?

The Athlon Talos BTR 1-4x is pretty good I think for the price ($300) and I see it as a good competitor to the Vortex Crossfire II 1-4x. One of my first LPVO's (so I can't compare to $1000+ scopes) but overall the glass is clear, the reticle is solid, the turrets click nice, and the mag adjust is smooth.

For true Budget options C_Does has some reviews on the Discovery optics brand, and it might be a true budget offering. They do have optic quality shortfalls but their LPVO's are very budget conscious at the $150-200 price point which includes scope rings, and might be perfect for someone throwing a cheap scope on a cheap gun.
