Hey Everyone

I have been shooting 210Gr Berger VLD's out of my 300 RUM I have had great success I was thinking about trying 230Gr Berger Hybrid whats your thoughts the Bullet BC is 0743 they shuld perform pretty well I was running Retumbo but might try H1000.

If you're having success with the 210's stick with them. However, if you want to experiment with the 230's, give it a try. Worst case scenario...the 210's work.

Run them through a ballistic calculator at your current vel and what you figure you can get from the Hybrids. If there that much better might be worth a try. There is that little issue about barrel life though. A hundred or so rounds to find out they don't work is a hundred or so You can't get back...

You'll like the Hybrids. The greatest advantage, in my experience is that the Hybrids are less sensitive to seating depth. I've tested this with my 7mm RM and my 6.5x55 Swede. I also run Berger 300gr Hybrids with my .338 LM. I use Retumbo in my 7, H4831SC in my 6.5 and H1000 in my .338. All work great.

I agree with SavageLapua. I've had spotty results with VLD's, in my 308's (even in my 6mmBR I occasionally get one out of five that seems to throw a bit of a tantrum between muzzle and target) whereas the BT's or Juggernaut or whatever they now call them are super consistent. Last year I tried out some 30 cal Hybrids and after some initial teething troubles I find that they produce a generally tighter cluster than BT's without the seating headache that VLD's give me.

I would stick with the 210gr vld, I use them out of my 300rum with retumbo. I tried H1000 and didnt get the accuracy or velocities I got wiht retumbo
