what bullet for 308 hunting

The 165 is IMO the best all round weight for the 308. Best comprimise of weight and velocity, giving a good trajectory.
The partition is an excellent bullet, but expensive. That is, if you plan on doing a lot of pre-season practice.
Yes, it's cheap insurance, but, when moose have been taken cleanly for generations with the 30-30 Winchester, and standard factory loads, you have to wonder if you really need it.
I'd try the interlock, or the gameking, both are excellent standard type bullets, that perform well, and don't break the bank.
