What bullet weights r best with H4895 in 223 rem?

Recently picked up an 8lb jug H4895, seems like it was hard to get for a few years there

I put some under the new 69gr Hornady ELDvt and tried in my 20" Tikka CTR 223 Rem (Lapua brass, CCI 450, 2.416" OAL / .047 jump)

23.7grs did 2977 fps, great group at 325 yards

Great find. I’m still shooting H4895 from Higginsons that came in a plastic bag inside a cardboard box! I’m on my last pound so I hope more H4895 finds its way to the east coast as well.

Now, if only Unique powder would be available again too. Unique, H4895 and H4350 could take care of most cartridges for me.

Isn't it quite a bit of jump for an ELD bullet?

No I don't think so. They work fine close to lands or a ways off

A 1moa ten shot group from a factory barreled rifle isn't a bad place to be
