what bullets does the SL8 like to eat?

It's a 1:7 twist so the 55 grain bullets aren't great. I get better groupings with my AR and 1x EOTech at 100 yards than I do with my scoped SL8 when using 55s.
62 is a better option but 75 grain bullets are the magic number from what I hear. I have some on order and will be testing them soon hopefully.

Uhhh... no. I've used 5 different kinds of factory/surplus and can't get that with any 55 grain bullet.
From a seated position with a bipod I'm lucky to get 3MOA. Basically, at 100 yards, if were aiming at the centre of a 6 inch diameter paper plate, I'd just get them all on the plate.
I may not be the best shot in the world but I'm far from the worst. I can hit about 1.5 - 2 MOA with my AR while seated and using a 1x EOTech sight and that's at a somewhat rapid rate of fire. (About 1 shot every 2 seconds.)
As far as I'm concerned, 3MOA is horrible from a rifle like the SL8. I have done a lot of research on it and have found many others with the same issues I'm having. Increasing the bullet weight has solved it for most, if not all those that have tried.
I wouldn't go much above 62 grain in a 1:9. 55 work very well.
Just so you understand, it's not so much the weight of the bullet that matters as much as the length. It just so happens that the heavier bullets are longer, of course, but that's the reason behind it.
