What caliber should I buy next?

How about a 243win in some sort of predator rifle. Larger varmints, coyotes, and wolf would all be well matched with bullets ranging from 75-100gr.

Thanks for all the responses. Lots of interesting calibers to choose from. I now have some decisions to make.

What do you want? When you started the thread you must have had something in mind. Go with what you like and feel comfortable with. As you stated "lots of good suggestions". It's your call now. Just remember; match the cartridge with the game hunted and take ethical shots. Have fun!

If we consider the gap as a "gap in purpose" rather than a "gap in bore diameter," then you might also consider a heavy, slow close-up performer... perhaps a pistol caliber, of which I would recommend a .44 Rem Mag... or better yet a .45/70 of some persuasion. You could go the Marlin lever route, or the falling block route... but you will find a .45/70 unique to your current line-up, and great fun to load and shoot... AND a wonderful short range deer/bear cartridge.
