What caliber would you exclusively use to hunt each of the following big game?

What would your preferred caliber to hunt each of the following large game be?

White Tail / Mule Deer?

Caribou?

Black Bear?

Brown Bear?

Elk?

Moose?

Bison?

Mountain Goat?

Dall Sheep / Stone Sheep?

I will never be hunting mountain goat, dall sheep, bison, brown bear or caribou. Therefore, the 30-06 would suffice for the remainder of the big game animals.

I have a type:

White Tail / Mule Deer?
.257 Weatherby Mag

Caribou?
.257 Weatherby Mag

Black Bear?
.50-cal muzzleloader or 125gr broadhead

Brown Bear?
.300 Weatherby Mag

Elk?

Moose?

Bison?
.300 Weatherby Mag

Mountain Goat?
.257 Weatherby Mag

Dall Sheep / Stone Sheep?

Not a bad type to have.

Hope to use a 338! (338 Federal)

I will say that I have used the 7MM STW on more species of game than any other over the past 38 years, but this is due to the rifle; an extremely accurate LH custom Sako AV that has been a pleasure to shoot, carry and hunt with!
Was it the best cartridge for all game in all circumstances - probably not, it has accounted for a whitetail at 15 yards and a mtn goat at 30, and it also accounted for a 7x7 elk at 475 yards, and a host of game in between. So in the end, it worked just fine, as it was the firearm in my hands on those occasions!

men used to be able to shoot all these with just a .50cal muzzle loader, now we need a caliber for every animal out there

even if money was not an issue, i would like to hunt all of those with a .270 Win, just because

Deer both species I’ve used 270,284 and a 357 Magnum handgun (ex BIL’s ranch in Washington state

Caribou used a 270 Weatherby and 7 mm Weatherby

Black Bear Used 270, 30-06 and 338 Win

Brown bear AKA Grizzly (not a brown faze of a Black) would use a 375 H&H or my 375 Whelen AI

Elk used a 270 Win and a 30-06

Moose used a 270 Win 308 and a 35 Whelen

Bison would use 375 H&H 375 Whelen AI or my 404 Jeffery

Mountain Goat used a 270 Win

Sheep would use 270 Win 7 mm Remington

Add on Muskox used a 35 Whelen
Antelope used a 6.5/300 WSM

White Tail, moose and black bear just about limits hunting in Ontario. There is a remote chance at an elk hunt but tags and locations are very hard to come by. So all could be hunted with a 7mm-08 Rem with proper shot placement. And I probably would not shoot a bear unless in anger.

30-30 for all.
After 45 years of hunting I've pretty much taken all of them with it
except bison and brown bear which I haven't hunted nor would I.
If you've seen an Alasken Brown you know why.
