What calibers DO hunters use for deer - quasi-statistical answer

I use a .35 Whelen. I have used in the past, .303 Brit, 7.92x57mm, 7.62x54r and I would love me to take out my .43 Mauser in the near future once I get a load that hits where I am consistently.

And I load all my centre fire ammo.

06 and 08 probably owe their popularity to Remingtons popular auto and pump offerings. The .303s belong to the guys that only have one gun (usually) and dont trouble themselves with spending bucks on the latest greatest.
I am most comfortable with an exposed hammer lever gun regardless of the chamber thats cut in it.

Here is a couple more "snapshot" stats, just looking at the shotgun ammo sales.

54.5% bought rifled slugs

32.1% bought sabot's, and

13.4% bought buckshot with 00 Buck being the overwhelming favourite (90% of buckshot sales were 00)
