Sorry AK. Normally I wouldn't jump in and bash stuff out usually I just lurk about, but, seriously!! I have to chime in my 2 cents worth. Hunting is NOT killing. Many have sorted this out here. If you think there is no challenge in taking your shot at ANY animal, then you haven't experienced it. There is NO adrenaline rush like it, short of hunting/being hunted by a man. ANY time you take that shot, your adrenaline is pumping, causing the gun to shake, "buck fever" can come to anyone and anytime. However, anyone shooting an animal already knows how ti will be processed, the next move is... To think that you will just kill it and leave it disgusts me. Thanks for coming out, someone please strangle him with the T-shirt.

If you want a challenge take a drive through Toronto on the 401 in rush hour.

Or better yet. If you like shooting animals but hate killing them (Guilt factor)
Try shooting them with a camera!

Not sure if it has been said, but start by taking your hunter safety course.
(I don't think I'm going out on a limb assuming you haven't already )

I come from a hunting background / family, but am just getting into it. If your instructor is as good as mine was, there will be some defining moments during the course that will force you to think about what you will face, and why you want to do it.

Thanks for coming out, Captain Assumption. Where did I ever say I would leave a kill to rot? Or did you just jump to conclusions like everyone else?

If this thread is representative of how the hunting community at large responds to new interest in the sport which requires a bit of guidance, I think I'll just stick to IDPA and F-class. I'll remember to treat you hunter types with the same disrespect and derision when you ask about something you're unfamiliar with in those sports. I see now why the Elmer Fudd stereotype exists; it seems to have been earned.

To those who actually offered some advice and guidance, I appreciate the efforts.
