What can I bring home from the US?

I gotta tell you fellas, I cross the border on a regular basis, and have been for years. I've never once encountered a Homeland Security ckeckstop. There are members here who are bound and determined on making the US sound like Nazi Germany... "let me see your papers"...guys, grow the hell up! Nobody cares what happened to your "buddy"...chances are nothing happened. Do you actually think the badges across the border give a rats arse about the box of ammo you bought @ Gander Mountain?...or the couple of 10/22 mags you picked up @ Dicks Sporting Goods?...really?......here's a news flash...they couldn't be bothered. Unless you're loading up the box of your Silverado with a cash of weapons and liquor at the local Native Reserve, the US side couldn't care less. I'm not saying it could never happen mind you, but if you're honest with US authorities, don't insult their intelligence... and don't run your mouth about what YOU think the law is,.....chances are you'll be just ducky. People are people...remember this.

I don't think we need a crystal ball here to see that your future holds some free lodging and repeated rectal exams courtesy of Uncle Sam. You must be short on more than a box of ammo.

I0ve twicegot into trouble with the border. Once because there was a warrant ot for me, because some US guy withthe same name had a misdemenor. The other time the agent on entry thought I was evading Canadian laws he had wrong. He guessed I was lying to him on that basis, and felt I should be punished. Onegets theee jackasses at times. I am totaly respectable, always polite.

It isnt just people in Can who are worried. The DHS patrol cars and stops are showing up1 everywhere.
I have a friend who has the exact same name as someone on the terrorist watch list, If he wants to travel through US coustoms he has to leave a day or more early. No amount of paperwork or prior notification makes it any easier for him, if he travels by car or foot, the border litteraly shuts down once his passport is scanned, It is retarded.

posting the exceptions as a means to cheat is not what the op asked,

If you qualify for the exceptions, you are obeying the law as written. It's not even a grey area, it's black and white.

don't do it without the proper paperwork.

Once it's approved, the F6NIA is proper paperwork. It is the perfectly legal way, for a non resident to legally possess firearms and ammunition in the USA for the purpose of hunting or competing, and the law specifically allows the holder to purchase ammunition in the USA. It also allows you to legally remove the items specifically listed on the form, from the USA ,without requiring an export permit.

Now if I wasn't hunting or competing in the USA, and I just wanted to export firearms, firearms components ammunition, or ammunition components out of the USA, I would just use the services of a legal exporter/importer. In fact, I have done this on several occasions. I for one, would not purchase the goods, and try to bring them across the border myself, hoping that I won't encounter a Homeland Security check stop.

the F6NIA has nothing to do with what the op asked, he is asking what he can buy and bring back while he is on vacation there.

Hey,

I'm in the states for Christmas and will be heading to a Bass Pro shops during my stay. I tried looking but its all way to confusing to get a good answer so I figured I'd ask here.

I was wondering what all can I legally buy and bring home to Canada. I know I can't get anything (At least this is what I think) that "attaches" to a gun, but I was wondering what can I bring home in regards to reloading equipment, specifically Dies and bullets, and maybe case holders or trimmers.

Anything to help clarify would be great guys!

Merry Christmas

I brought up the F6NIA to point out the error in your post below.

Ome more thing to note

regardless of the export permit, you are not to be in posession of those items personally as a canadian on US soil, just like a firearm it needs an exporter, you can't do it yourself.

my post is in response to the OP buying the items in the USA to export himself, not if you have the F6NIA and brought those items to the usa from canada originally, which is something you brought up after the fact.

please stop confusing two different scenarios making people think it is legal to purchase and self export firearms and components from the USA with a F6NIA.

Exactly where did I post that it's legal to self export firearms and components from the USA with a F6NIA. Please feel free to quote from any of my posts in this thread. If you interpreted that from my posts, your reading comprehension, is sadly lacking.
