Hey everyone quick question for you. I am looking at getting into reloading as i plan on shooting a lot more this year and there are a few friends that have been bugging me to get them cheap ammo so what I want to know is it going to be worth while reloading the following cartridges or will it be just as cheap to go buy this amount for now? I know my initial purchase will be in the hundreds but in the long run will I save?
.308, .300 Win Mag- Probably looking at around 500 to 1000 for this year alone
.303 - 1000
30.06- 300
.40 cal - not sure of the amount but probably 500 to 1000
9mm - 500 to 1000

As Jamie says, start loading. Your equipment will pay for itself in no time if you will be reloading that amount. I can load .308 & .303 with j-bullets for 1/3 the cost of factory ammo. If I load with cast bullets, I can load for a lot less than that. So you can obviously see that it pays to load your own & it is also a great hobby.

Less time with family, more time in the quiet area hunched over presses. Get into casting as well and you can spend more time over a burner as well. Sure a box of ammo will cost you less but you won't be spending less money. It's like crack try it and you'll be hooked.
