Got a pleasant unexpected surprise in the local Sporting goods store yesterday.
Bought an apparently unissued Soviet SKS. Blued. All matching numbers, right down to the bolt. Laminated stock with birch hand guard. Chrome bore. No makers markings, not even the little star on the side of the receiver. Bayonet is a bit unusual in that it is bright and shiny, not the usual sand blasted look. Also appears to be slimmer than others I've seen. Serial number is four digits and preceded by the Cyrillic version of F and an upside down V. Puzzle to me, any info appreciated.
