Stopped on the way back, found a bigger crate with the racks still in it. Thanks for posting the coffee table pics guys, should make for a good winter project or 2!
This one is a Mosin Nagant 91/30 crate - holds 20x Mosin Nagants.
Re-painted recently in Belarus with Belarus (BY) export markings. Most of these went via other destinations (Ukraine/Germany) before coming to Canada. These Belarus crates have some of the best refurb'd 91/30's on the market and the crates are generally in excellent condition (designed to hold 20x bayo's as well).
The wheat looking symbol tells you the crate was heat treated to kill insects - necessary for export.
If your first crate is closer to 1/2 the size of this crate you have a SKS crate. But if the crate is about 2/3 to 3/4 the size of this crate your other crate is an SVT crate. (Trust me - I own several of each style/type).
